DHAKA, Jan 4, 2026 (BSS) -  Biplobi Workers Party General Secretary Saiful Haque today met with BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman.

A delegation from Biplobi Workers Party signed the condolence book opened at the BNP’s Gulshan office to pay tribute to party’s Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia this afternoon. They then met with Tarique Rahman. Central leaders of the party were also present at that time.

In a one-on-one discussion, Tarique Rahman and Saiful Haque discussed various issues including the country’s political situation, upcoming elections, and strengthening democracy.

At that time, the leaders of the Biplobi Workers Party consoled the BNP Acting Chairman on overcoming the grief of the loss.

Later, speaking to journalists in front of the office, Saiful Haque said Tarique Rahman is concerned about mob terrorism and insecurity of people's lives and property. He conveyed Tarique Rahman's message of creating peace and harmony among the people. Tarique Rahman also spoke about taking the country forward with unity and solidarity.

Saiful Haque said BNP Acting Chairman called for ensuring that political competition does not escalate into violence in any way. He also urged caution so that no division is created among the parties.

At that time, discussions were also held about Tarique Rahman participating in election campaigns in various parts of the country including Dhaka-12 constituency.
