DHAKA, Jan 4, 2026 (BSS) - The White Panel, a platform of Dhaka University teachers who believe in Bangladesh nationalism, today paid tribute at the graves of the great proclaimer of independence and BNP founder Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia.

They placed floral wreaths and offered Fateha at Zia Udyan in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar in the city this morning.

Prof ABM Siddiqur Rahman Nizami of the Arabic Department conducted Doa and Munajat.

After paying tribute, DU White Panel Convener Prof Dr Morshed Hasan Khan said, "Deshnetri Begum Khaleda Zia has left us orphaned. We pray for the salvation of her departed soul. May Allah grant her Jannah."

He said Begum Khaleda Zia bore no malice or enmity towards anyone and always upheld tolerance and dignity. Referring to BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman, Prof Morshed Hasan Khan said he also harbours no hatred and is holding discussions with all stakeholders with a vision to run the country inclusively. He expressed hope that Tarique Rahman would unite the nation and steer the country forward properly.
