SAVAR, Jan 3, 2026 (BSS) - Detective Branch (DB) of police arrested Ahmed Faisal Naim Turjo, 30, a leader of Savar Jubo League.

Acting on a tip-off, a DB team led by Officer-in-Charge Md. Saidul Islam detained Turjo on Friday evening from the Panir Tank intersection in Agargaon under Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station, a press release from DB (Dhaka North) said today.

Turjo, son of Savar Awami League leader Abu Ahmed Pavel Nasim, is facing six murder cases linked to the Anti-Discrimination Students' Movement and one case under the Anti-Terrorism Act, police added.

OC Saidul Islam said legal action against the accused is ongoing.
