JCD vows to confront conspiracies under Tarique Rahman's leadership

DHAKA, Jan 3, 2026 (BSS) - Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) President Rakibul Islam Rakib today said the organisation would firmly confront all ongoing conspiracies against the country under the leadership of BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman.

He made the remarks after paying tribute and offering prayers at the graves of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia.

"We find it extremely difficult to come to terms with the reality that the uncompromising leader Begum Khaleda Zia is no longer with us. Yet, the younger generation feels proud to carry forward her uncompromising political legacy," Rakib said.

Describing Begum Khaleda Zia as an uncompromising, humanitarian and pro-Bangladesh leader, he said Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal has pledged to uphold the ideological politics she left behind.

Referring to the recent situation and activities of different quarters, Rakib said they also want justice for the killing of Osman Hadi, but alleged that a particular group is engaged in conspiracies.

"Chhatra Dal will continue to remain on the streets to resist all conspiracies and help maintain stability in the country," he added.

JCD General Secretary Nasir Uddin Nasir said they have been paying tribute at the grave for more than a decade and even during times of crisis, they felt the presence of their leader.

"Today, the reality that she is no longer with us is deeply painful," he said.

Nasir also alleged that those responsible for persecuting Begum Khaleda Zia for years, imprisoning her and depriving her of proper medical treatment must be brought to justice.

A large number of JCD leaders and activists from different levels of the central committee were present on the occasion. They offered prayers and sought forgiveness for the departed souls of the late leaders.
