DHAKA, Jan 3, 2026 (BSS) – A total of 53 more dengue patients were hospitalized across the country in the last 24 hours, while no deaths were reported during the period.
The information was revealed today in a dengue-related press release, issued by the Health Emergency Operation Centre and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
According to the release, among the newly hospitalized patients, 12 were admitted in Barishal Division (outside city corporation areas), 12 in Chattogram Division (outside city corporation areas), seven in Dhaka Division (outside city corporation areas), 15 in Dhaka North City Corporation and seven in Dhaka South City Corporation.
During the same period, 45 dengue patients were discharged from different hospitals. With this, the total number of patients discharged so far this year rose to 313.
From January 1 to January 3, 2026, a total of 192 dengue cases were reported across the country.
In 2025, the country recorded a total of 1,02,861 dengue cases, while 413 people died from the mosquito-borne disease.
Earlier, in 2024, Bangladesh reported 1,01,214 dengue cases and 575 dengue-related deaths.
