KHULNA, Jan 3, 2026 (BSS) - The nomination papers of one independent candidate have been cancelled in Khulna-4 constituency, comprising Rupsha, Terokhada and Dighalia upazilas.

A total of five candidates submitted nomination papers in the constituency. After scrutiny, four nominations were found valid while one was cancelled. Returning Officer and Khulna District Magistrate A S M Jamshed Khondokar disclosed the information on Saturday.

The nomination of the one independent was cancelled due to irregularities. The independent candidate is S M Azmol Hossain.

However, he will have the opportunity to appeal against the decision.
    
Meanwhile, the nominations of four candidates have been declared valid. 

They are Younus Ahmed Sheikh of Islami Andolon Bangladesh, S K Azizul Bari of Bangladesh Nationalist Party BNP, Md Kabirul Islam of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, and S M Sakhawat Hossain of Khelafat Majlis.
