KHULNA, Jan 2, 2026 (BSS) – Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General and ex-MP Mia Golam Parwar today termed his party’s election symbol ‘scale’ as justice and fairness and said the scale  must be made victorious in the upcoming national election to ensure overall development of the country.

He said the people would no longer accept a “sham election,” warning that elections like those held in 2014, 2018 and 2024 would not be allowed again.

“People have already brought about change through bloodshed. If necessary, we will again make this change successful at the cost of blood, InshaAllah,” he said.

Parwar called upon students and the masses to move forward courageously to realize their rights, as they had done in the past by standing shoulder to shoulder in struggle.

He made the remarks a chief guest while addressing a Hindu community members’ gathering at Line Bill Pabla Puja Mandir this evening.

Hindu committee member Kumaresh Kumar Mondal presided over the event and Sreedam Kumar Mondal conducted it.

Khulna district Jamaat secretary Munshi Mizanur Rahman, assistant secretary Professor Mia Golam Quddus and district working committee member Advocate Abu Yusuf Mollah were special guests.

Others who spoke included Gutudia Union Parishad Chairman Tuhinul Islam, Harintana Thana Ameer Maulana Abdul Gafur, Liton Hossain and Dibashish Mallik.

Parwar said their movement would continue against fascism and extortionists, regardless of whether fascism was old or new. “As long as fascism exists, our struggle will go on,” he added.

Expressing his vision for a “dream Bangladesh,” he said they wanted to leave behind a country where children, adolescents and youths of all religions and communities could breathe in peace.

To build an extortion-free and land-grabbing-free society, he said there was no alternative to the rule of Allah’s law and honest leadership, calling upon all to uphold divine justice.

Earlier in the afternoon, Parwar also addressed another Hindu community members’ gathering as the chief guest at Khamarbari in Ward No. 1 of Gutudia Union under Dumuria upazila.
