SYLHET, Dec 29, 2025 (BSS) – A total of 47 candidates have filed nomination papers for six parliamentary constituencies of Sylhet in the 13th national elections. 

The candidates submitted their nominations at the offices of the Sylhet Returning Officer and Assistant Returning Officer till 5 pm today. 

Earlier, 56 people had collected their nomination papers till Sunday.

At 6 pm, District Returning Officer and Sylhet Deputy Commissioner Md Sarwar Alam revealed this information to media.

He said the candidates submitted their nomination papers in a festive and peaceful atmosphere. “No complaints were received. The nomination papers will be scrutinised on January 3,” he added.

Out of the total nominations submitted, 10 candidates submitted their nomination papers for Sylhet-1 seat, while 9 for Sylhet-2 constituency, 9 for Sylhet-3 constituency, 7 for Sylhet-4 constituency, 6 for Sylhet-5 constituency and 6 for Sylhet-6 constituency.

Among them, two BNP candidates Emran Chowdhury and Faisal Chowdhury submitted their nominations for Sylhet-6 constituency, and BNP nominee Tahsina Rushdir Luna and her son submitted their nomination papers for Sylhet-2 constituency.

Besides, several independent candidates submitted their nomination papers.
