NARSINGDI, Dec 24, 2025 (BSS) - The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has 
nominated Manjur Elahi, general secretary of the district BNP and an 
industrialist, as its candidate for the Narsingdi-3 (Shibpur) constituency.

BNP Joint Secretary General and President of the district unit Khairul Kabir 
Khokon said this afternoon that the nomination letter, signed by BNP 
Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, was handed over to Manjur on 
December 18.

Later, Elahi also confirmed the matter over his cell phone.

Ahead of the 13th National Parliamentary Elections, BNP initially announced 
candidates for 236 constituencies. Subsequently, candidates were declared for 
36 more seats.

On Wednesday, the party announced candidates for two additional 
constituencies. With this, BNP has, so far, announced candidates for a total 
of 274 seats.

Besides, the party has allocated 12 seats to its alliance partners. Party 
sources said candidates for the remaining 14 seats will be announced 
gradually.
