DHAKA, Dec 23, 2025 (BSS)- Dhaka University Chhatra Dal today organized a
welcoming rally to mark the homecoming of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP)
acting Chairman Tarique Rahman.
The rally started around 4:00 pm from the Teacher-Student Centre (TSC) on the DU campus which marched through VC Chattar and the hall areas.
During the procession, leaders and activists chanted various slogans
welcoming the return of Tarique Rahman.
Addressing a brief post-rally gathering, DU Chhatra Dal President Ganesh
Chandra Roy Sahas said Tarique Rahman had led the anti-fascist movement from
abroad for the past 15 years.
He said," Tarique Rahman is set to return home soon, ending the long wait,
and we welcome his return."
He also urged Chhatra Dal leaders and activists to work towards implementing
Tarique Rahman's 31-point programme to build Bangladesh as a state based on
equality, morality and human values.
DU Chhatra Dal General Secretary Nahiduzzaman Shipon said that after 17 years of exile, BNP Vice Chairman Tarique Rahman is scheduled to return home on December 25. He expressed hope that Rahman's return would open a new chapter for democracy and help the country move forward on a democratic path.
Leaders and activists from different halls and units of DU Chhatra Dal
participated in the rally.
