DHAKA, Dec 22, 2025 (BSS) – Chairman of Bangladesh Jatiyo Dal Syed Ehsanul Huda today joined the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) along with his leaders and activists after dissolving his party.

The joining ceremony was held at the BNP Chairperson’s office in Gulshan this afternoon. Huda formally joined the party by presenting a bouquet to BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir.

Syed Ehsanul Huda will contest the upcoming 13th parliamentary election from the Kishoreganj-5 constituency under the BNP’s electoral symbol, Dhaner Shis (Sheaf of Paddy).

Welcoming the newcomers, the BNP secretary general said, “Today, Chairman of Bangladesh Jatiyo Dal Syed Ehsanul Huda, along with his leaders and activists, has joined the BNP.”

He said they had formally joined the party expressing confidence in the strong leadership of Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman and showing faith in the 19-point programme of the party’s founder, Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman, and Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia.

“We hope that their joining will further strengthen the BNP,” Fakhrul added.

Upon joining, Syed Ehsanul Huda said, “BNP is a party that believes in nationalist ideology. At this critical juncture for the country, we have joined the BNP on the path of democracy.”

He alleged that various conspiracies were being hatched to sabotage the election.

“At this moment, with the aim of strengthening the leadership of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman, Deshnetri Begum Khaleda Zia and Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman, I am dissolving my party and joining the BNP,” he said.

“I hope that, just as we struggled on the streets in the past, I will be able to play a role in realizing the dream of building a beautiful Bangladesh based on the 31-point framework,” he added.

BNP Standing Committee member Nazrul Islam Khan was also present at the ceremony.
