12 accused placed on 3-day remand in Dipu Das murder case

MYMENSINGH, Dec 22, 2025 (BSS) - A court here today placed 12 accused on a three-day remand each in connection with the murder of garment worker Dipu Chandra Das, 27, in Bhaluka upazila.

Judicial Magistrate Shahadat Hossain passed the order following a remand hearing held in the presence of the accused. Police had sought a five-day remand for further investigation.

Mymensingh Court Police Inspector Mostasinur Rahman confirmed this, saying investigators are working to uncover the alleged conspiracy behind the killing. He added that the remand period would be used to verify information about suspected links beyond the local area.

The remanded accused include Alamgir Hossain, 38, floor in-charge, Moraz Hossain, 46, quality in-charge, Tarek Hossain, 19, Limon Sarkar, 22, Manik Miah, 20, Ershad Ali, 39, Najim Uddin, 20, Ajmal Hasan, 26, Ashikur Rahman, 25, Quiyum, 25, Sahin Miah, 19, and Nazmul, 21. Many of them are residents of areas outside Mymensingh district, according to investigators.

 Dipu Chandra Das, a worker at Pioneer Knitwear (BD) Limited in Jamirdiya Dubalipara area of Bhaluka, was killed on December 18. Following the incident, his brother filed a murder case against at least 150 unidentified individuals.
