DHAKA, Dec 21, 2025 (BSS) – Bangladesh Railway (BR) has realized Tk 799,480, including fare and fines, from 4,060 passengers who traveled on trains without tickets.

“Bangladesh Railway, with 88 Travelling Ticket Examiners (TTEs), conducted drives on 83 trains in the eastern region yesterday (December 20) and realized around Tk 8 lakh as fare and fines,” said Md Afzal Hossain, Director General (DG) of Bangladesh Railway, here today.

He said such drives would begin across the country from next week to build awareness among the general public, especially those who usually travel by train.

According to a BR official, a total of 84 TTEs were engaged in inspection activities on 83 trains, during which they identified 4,060 ticketless passengers.

During the drive, BR collected Tk 555,515 as fare and Tk 243,965 as fines on the day.
