DHAKA, Dec 20, 2025 (BSS) - Pallabi police has recovered a cache of abandoned country-made weapons, including three revolvers and 73 rounds of live cartridges, during a raid in the Mirpur area of the capital.
The recovery was made at around 4:45 pm on Friday from Block-C of Mirpur-11, under the jurisdiction of Pallabi Police Station, a police press release said today.
According to police sources, a special team from Pallabi Police Station received secret information that several weapons had been abandoned on the third floor of the six-storey old City Corporation Market in Mirpur-11.
Then, police conducted a raid at the location and seized three revolvers, 73 live cartridges, a revolver cover, a chapati (sharp weapon), and two small knives.
Police officials said the weapons appeared to be country-made and were found unattended.
Legal proceedings are currently underway, and investigations have been launched to identify the source of the weapons and uncover the motive behind abandoning them at the location.
