ISLAMIC UNIVERSITY, Kushtia, Dec 19, 2025 (BSS)- Students of Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia staged a protest march on campus on Thursday night following the report of the death of Sharif Osman Hadi.

Hundreds of students gathered at the 'Zia More' area of the campus and later brought out a procession. They marched through different roads while chanting slogans such as "Hadi bhai kobore, khuni keno bahire?", "Hadi bhai er sorone, voy korina morone" etc.

The procession ended at the main road adjacent to the university's main gate, where the protesters blocked the Kushtia-Khulna highway for about an hour.

Leaders of Students against Discrimination, Jatiotabadi Chhatra Dal, Islami Chhatra Shibir, Chhatra Union and Islami Andolon also addressed the gathering at the main entrance of the university, demanding justice over the incident.

Meanwhile, female students also assembled in front of their respective residential halls and chanted similar slogans in solidarity with the protest.
