DHAKA, Dec 17, 2025 (BSS) – Brigadier General (Retd) Dr AKM Shamsul Islam has been appointed as the 'Chief Security Officer' to oversee the overall security of former Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia and Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman.

A press release signed by BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi today confirmed the appointment.
