DHAKA, Dec 16, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr Shafiqur Rahman today said the future Bangladesh would be governed under a new political order by discarding the politics of the old system.

Addressing a youth marathon organised by Jamaat's Youth Division at Suhrawardy Udyan this morning marking the Great Victory Day, he said future politics would firmly oppose terrorism, extortion, murder, rape, false cases, corruption, injustice and oppression.

Dr Rahman said the marathon would continue until a new Bangladesh led by the youth is established. "No matter how many obstacles or threats come, we will not stop. We will build the dream Bangladesh of the nation, Insha'Allah," he said.

Referring to the upcoming national election, the Jamaat Ameer said people will not allow any form of technical conspiracy. "We do not seek any favour from the Election Commission, but if it shows favour to anyone, it will not be accepted," he added.

He also warned against the use of black money in elections, saying people are now far more conscious than before. "No one can buy a nation awakened with patriotism using black money," he added.

Jamaat Chief said injustice and discrimination by the Pakistani ruling elite had triggered mass resistance in former East Pakistan. However, he alleged that after independence, pledges to establish a discrimination-free society were broken, democratic rights were curtailed, newspapers were shut down and people were deprived of their voting rights.

He further alleged that enforced disappearances, killings and repression were carried out during different regimes, creating public anger and resistance. "That is why people across the country rose up against oppression during the July movement, forcing the rulers to flee," he said.

The Jamaat chief claimed that fugitive forces are now attempting to destabilise the country through covert attacks, targeting youths and revolutionaries. 

"They believe eliminating a few leaders will stop the movement, but the number of revolutionaries will only increase," he said, adding that youths are prepared to resist all anti-people forces.

Calling upon the youth, the Jamaat Ameer urged them to continue the movement until a new Bangladesh is fully realised.

Jamaat central executive council member and Dhaka South Ameer Nurul Islam Bulbul also addressed the event, chaired by Jamaat Assistant Secretary General Advocate Ehsanul Mahbub Zubayer and conducted by Dhaka South Assistant Secretary Mohammad Kamal Hossain. 

Central leaders, including Advocate Dr Helal Uddin and Dr Fakhruddin Manik, also spoke on the occasion. 

After the meeting, Dr Shafiqur Rahman formally inaugurated the youth marathon from Suhrawardy Udyan. Around 50,000 young participants joined the marathon, which started from Suhrawardy Udyan and concluded at Manik Mia Avenue via Shahbagh and Science Laboratory.
