DHAKA, Dec 03, 2025 (BSS)- Dhaka University Central Students' Union (DUCSU) has protested the continued killing of Bangladeshi citizens in the border areas.

In a statement signed today by DUCSU GS SM Farhad, the leaders of the union protested against these killings and demanded diplomatic and legal action.

The statement said that on Sunday (November 30) midnight, the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) brutally beat to death two Bangladeshi youths, Ibrahim Rinku (28) and Momin Mia (29), tied their hands and feet and threw them into the Padma River in the border area of Shibganj upazila of Chapainawabganj.

DUCSU is expressing deep condemnation and strong protest against the ongoing killing of Bangladeshi citizens at the border, it said, adding since independence, the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) has been continuously violating international law by shooting and killing Bangladeshi citizens in the border.

Although the body of a teenager Felani hanging from a barbed wire or the brutal killing of Swarna Das has shaken the conscience of the whole world, the attitude of the BSF has not changed, it added.

The statement said that despite India's repeated promises,  the border is not stopped.

According to human rights organizations and media reports, about 653 Bangladeshis were killed and thousands more injured in BSF firing and torture from 2009 to December 2025. No investigation or trial has been conducted into these killings, it said.

It said the illegal push-in of people into Bangladesh is a grave concern for the sovereignty of Bangladesh.

The statement said that this year alone, about 2,000 people have been illegally pushed into Bangladesh from India, including Rohingya and Indian citizens. Incidents such as explosions, flying of drones and firing have also taken place in the border areas, it added.

The lack of justice in the illegal push-in and killing of Bangladeshi citizens from India is a grave concern for the security and sovereignty of the country, it said.

Due to the kneeling and weak foreign policy of the fallen fascist Awami League government, the BSF has continued to kill people on the border for years.

The statement said that diplomatic and legal action must be taken for every killing committed by the BSF on the India-Bangladesh border.

Urgent steps must also be taken to ensure justice by raising serious human rights violations like border killings in the International Criminal Court, it said.
