CHATTOGRAM, Dec 1, 2025 (BSS) - Speakers at a training workshop on dairy products and their marketing laid emphasis on increasing the intake of dairy milk products to address nutrition deficiency among people of all ages.
They also called upon the concerned authority to minimize costs of the dairy products and their varieties so that it becomes affordable to the low-income consumers.
They made the call at the inaugural function of 10-day training workshop on “ Dairy Milk Products and Marketing” jointly organized by Poultry Research and Train Center ( PRTC) and Dairy and Poultry Science Department of Chattogram Veterinary and Animal Science University ( CVASU) in cooperation with Directorate of Cooperatives.
Held at the conference room of PRTC with its Director Prof. Dr. A K M Humayun Kabir in the chair, CVASU Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md Lutfar Rahman and Joint Registrar of LGRD and Cooperative Ministry Tofayel Ahmed attended the inaugural session as the chief guest and special guest respectively.
Speaking at the function, CVASU VC Prof. Lutfar Rahman said such skill development programme in the sector would play an effective role in achieving self-sufficiency in milk and dairy-milk production in the country as well as elevating the overall economic condition of the marginal farmers.
The special guest in his address focused on farming and rearing more highly-improved breed cow to meet demand of milk and dairy products deficit, opportunities in employment generation and increased participation of women in the sector to attain economic self-sufficiency.
Twenty-five dairy farmers including a number women entrepreneurs in the sector from Hathazari and Mirsharai upazila here have been participating in the training workshop.
