DHAKA, Nov 26, 2025 (BSS) - The Bangladesh High Commission (HC) in Malaysia
has celebrated the 54th Armed Forces Day (AFD) at the Bukit Kiara Resort in
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia with due dignity amid holding different programmes.
The programmes began yesterday with performing of the national anthems of
Bangladesh and Malaysia, followed by a documentary film on the occasion, said
a release received here this afternoon.
Deputy Chief of the Malaysian Navy Vice Admiral Dato' Pahlawan Ts. Shamsuddin
bin Hj Ludin attended the event as the chief guest along with his wife Datin
Nor Balkhissham binti Abu Bakar.
In his welcome speech, Malaysian High Commission's Defense Adviser Commodore
Md Hasan Tariq Mandal highlighted the significance of the AFD and drew
attention to the bilateral and good ties existing between the two countries'
armies.
Speaking on the occasion, Bangladesh High Commissioner to Malaysia Manjurul
Karim Khan Chowdhury highlighted the importance of the AFD members with due
respect during Bangladesh's struggle and independence.
Due to its professional skills, the AFD members are being appreciated across
the globe and made the Bangladesh flag shine globally through assigning the
highest number of peacekeepers in the United Nations peacekeeping missions,
he mentioned.
On the occasion, the High Commissioner along with the guests cut a cake, the
ISPR added.
Defense advisers from 40 countries, senior officers of the Malaysian Armed
Forces, important officials of various ministries, local Bangladeshi
community leaders and the HC officials and employees, among others, attended
the ceremony.
