DHAKA, Nov 21, 2025 (BSS) - The National Legal Aid Services Organisation (NLASO), through its two labour legal aid cells in Dhaka and Chattogram, has so far realised Tk 69,581,916 in compensation for workers through Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR).
According to its latest monthly report, NLASO stated that since its inception in 2009 up to October 2025, the statutory organisation under the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs has recovered compensation at both pre-case and post-case stages.
"A total of Tk 302,702,659 has been recovered as compensation across the country, including Tk 295,831,974 by its 64 district legal aid offices during this period," the NLASO report said.
The government, through NLASO, has provided free legal aid services to 1,330,161 people over the past 16 years.
Any poor person is entitled to receive free legal aid services. Individuals eligible for such assistance include old-age allowance recipients, distressed mothers holding VGD cards, women and children who are victims of trafficking or acid violence, insolvent widows, abandoned or distressed women, persons with disabilities, and poor detainees.
