DHAKA, Nov 15, 2025 (BSS) - A Dhaka court today sent two Jubo League leaders, including a central committee member and a former president of the Chuadanga district unit of the banned Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) to jail.
The trio - Bazlur Rahman, Assistant Secretary of the Jubo League central committee; Mustafizur Rahman Masud, Chuadanga district unit leader of Jubo League; and Sharif Hossain Dudu, former president of BCL Chuadanga district committee - were produced before the court.
Police also submitted a petition seeking their confinement in jail until the completion of the investigation into the cases filed against them.
After hearing the prosecution, Metropolitan Magistrate Israt Jenifar Jerin ordered to send them to jail.
Earlier, the trio was arrested from different locations in Dhaka on Friday.
According to the case documents, the arrested leaders, along with their political associates, organized an anti-government procession in front of Sena Malancha on the Dhaka-Mymensingh Highway on September 2, allegedly to carry out subversive activities against the interim government.
They were also accused of plotting conspiracies, obstructing the road, spreading panic among the public and undermining law and order in the country.
Following the incident, police filed the case under the Anti-Terrorism Act with Banani Thana.
