LAKSHMIPUR, Nov 13, 2025 (BSS) - BNP Joint Secretary General Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Anee today said that banned party Awami League (AL) observed lockdown making photos through Artificial Intelligence (AI).
“There was no man in the lockdown called by Awami League,” he said this while addressing the freshers’ reception of Janata Degree College at Char Shahi union here as the chief guest.
He stated that the AL is circulating photos on Facebook showing buses being set on fire and processions being brought out on main roads by groups of unruly and intoxicated youths, paid to stage such scenes.
“Sheikh Hasina used to say that those who set fire to buses would be thrown into the flames,” Anee said.
“Sheikh Hasina once claimed that she would never flee the country under any circumstances,” Anee said, adding that she has already left the country and sent all her relatives abroad. “However, the younger generation did not flee and will lead the nation,” he said.
“Many of our leaders and workers were tortured, kidnapped, murdered and implicated in various criminal cases during the tenure of Sheikh Hasina,” he said, adding that they (AL) also did huge corruption, established misrule and tortured many people by Mujib Bahini and Rakkhi Bahini after the War of Liberation.
Founding member of the college and its former chairman of the governing body Shibbir Mahmud joined the reception as special guest while acting principal of the college Belal Hossain, member of district BNP Anwar Hossain Bachhu, president of Zila Shramik Dal Abul Hashem and president of Zila Jatiyatabdi Chhatra Dal Hassan Mahmud Ibrahim, among others, were present.
