DHAKA, Nov 09, 2025 (BSS) - A court here today ordered the attachment of 99 acres of land in Panchagarh and a flat in Dhaka owned by former Jashore-3 lawmaker and Gemcon Group owner Kazi Nabil Ahmed, and also imposed a travel ban on him.
Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Md Sabbir Faiz passed the order, allowing separate petitions filed by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).
The court also ordered the freezing of 26 bank accounts and investments in 36 companies belonging to the accused, as well as to seize his income tax files.
According to the petition, accused Kazi Nabil Ahmed, by abusing his power while holding a responsible position in the government, unlawfully accumulated and possessed assets worth Taka 7.25 crore, inconsistent with his known sources of income, with the intent of obtaining personal financial gain through dishonest means.
It was further stated that a total of 45 bank accounts, operated in his name, jointly with others, and under his institutions, involved suspicious and unusual transactions amounting to Taka 109.22 crore, through which money was transferred, transacted, and converted for the purpose of money laundering.
"Accordingly, the ACC filed the case. Given the circumstances, it is essential to impose a travel ban on the accused, seize his income tax files, attach the said properties, and freeze all bank accounts held by him," the petition added.
