BAGERHAT, Nov 1, 2025 (BSS) - Director General (DG) of Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Party (VDP) Major General Abdul Motaleb Sajjad Mahmud visited Karamjal, one of the wonderful visiting places in the Sundarbans.
He was welcomed by the Officer-in-Charge of Karamjal Wildlife Breeding Centre Howlader Azad Kabir during his visit to Karamjal on Friday afternoon.
The VDP DG expressed his happiness after seeing various types of wildlife, deer skins and a herd of live deer at the Karamjal Crocodile Breeding Center, Conservation Museum of the Sundarbans.
He visited some parts of the Sundarbans, the world's largest mangrove forest, and expressed his satisfaction.
Howlader Azad Kabir gave an overview description of various species of trees including evergreen Gewa, Kewa, Chaila, Sundari of the Sundarbans, and a map and boundaries of the entire mangrove forest.
Major General Motaleb enjoyed seeing the natural beauty and enchanting views of the rows of green round-leaf trees of Dhangmari Karamjal and the area along the banks of the Pashur River adjacent to the Sundarbans.
The Sundarbans, a world heritage site, is famous for its unique environment of creeks and rivers, and is a sanctuary for endangered species like the Royal Bengal Tiger. Tourists are mainly eager to visit this forest [Sundarbans] to enjoy wildlife and the beauty of nature in an eco-friendly atmosphere.
