SIRAJGANJ, Oct 30, 2025 (BSS) – Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Standing Committee Member and former minister Iqbal Hasan Mahmud Tuku has said that anti-Liberation evil forces want to undermine the   1971 Liberation War.

“Our greatest chapter in national history is the Liberation War of 1971, through which an independent and sovereign Bangladesh was born,” Tuku said while addressing a workshop on BNP’s 31-point reform agenda at the auditorium of Islamia Government College in Sirajganj today.
Those who remained the evil forces in 1971 want to undermine this Great '1971 Liberation War' chapter and its struggle, he added.

He warned that using religion for personal or group interests creates division in society and undermines peace and discipline.

Praising the role of teachers, Tuku said they impart knowledge, skills and values to students in building an ideal and disciplined nation.

He also pledged that if BNP is elected in the upcoming national polls, the education sector will be attached  top priority under the party’s 31-point state reform agenda.

Islamia Government College Principal Professor Md Sharif-us-Sayeed, Vice-Principal Professor Md. Mostafizur Rahman and District BNP General Secretary Md. Saidur Rahman Bacchu also spoke at the event.

DU Chhatra Dal representative Khaled Erfan Chowdhury and Northern Region Student Forum Organizing Secretary Shibbir Ahmed discussed the education-related points of the 31-point state reform agenda.

Earlier in the morning, Tuku addressed another seminar at the Government Rashidazzoha Women’s College which was attended by its Principal Professor Sultana Salma Hossain.
