DHAKA, Oct 28, 2025 (BSS) - The 47th founding anniversary of Bangladesh Jatiotabadi Jubo Dal, the youth wing of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), was celebrated across the country on Monday with various programmes and enthusiastic participation of leaders and activists.
As part of the central observance, Jubo Dal units in different districts, upazilas, and cities organized discussions, joyous processions, cake-cutting ceremonies, and special prayers. The BNP Media Cell shared details and photographs of the celebrations on its official Facebook page.
Speakers at various rallies pledged to work in unity under the direction of BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman to restore democracy in the country.
In Bhola, the district Jubo Dal brought out a vibrant procession marking the anniversary.
In Rajbari, a colorful rally led by District Jubo Dal Convener Khairul Anam Bakul started from the BNP office and ended at the Railgate Muktijoddha Smriti Chattar.
BNP National Executive Committee member and former MP Ali Newaz Mahmud Khayyam addressed the gathering there.
In Bandarban, a rally organized by the District Jubo Dal, began from the central Eidgah Maidan, paraded through the main streets, and concluded in front of Abu Sayed Mukto Mancha.
Similar programmes were also held in Kurigram, Gazipur, Thakurgaon, Bogura, Barishal, Panchagarh, Faridpur, and Cumilla, drawing large crowds of local Jubo Dal leaders and activists.
In Bogura, the day-long celebration began early in the morning with the hoisting of national and party flags, followed by a grand rally in the afternoon at the Altafunnesa playground.
In Faridpur, a procession, led by District Jubo Dal President Rajib Hossain and General Secretary Jahangir Hossain, paraded through the main streets before ending at the Alipur Gorestan intersection.
The Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Jubo Dal was founded on October 27, 1978, by BNP founder and Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman, with Abul Kashem as its first convener and later president, and Saifur Rahman as the first general secretary.
Over the years, the organization has been led by notable figures, including Mirza Abbas and Gayeshwar Chandra Roy (elected in 1987 and re-elected in 1993), Barkat Ullah Bulu and Syed Moazzem Hossain Alal (elected in 2002), and later Alal with Saiful Alam Nirob (2010).
On February 22, 2023, Sultan Salauddin Tuku became president, and Abdul Monayem Munna was appointed general secretary. Later, on July 9, 2024, Abdul Monayem Munna assumed the role of president, with Nurul Islam Nayan serving as general secretary.
Jubo Dal leaders recalled that during previous Awami League governments, the organization faced 'widespread repression', including arrests and cases against activists. Despite such challenges, they affirmed their commitment to continue their political activities and uphold the spirit of BNP founder Ziaur Rahman.
The day was marked with fervor, unity, and pledges to strengthen the organization's role in national politics.
