DHAKA, Oct 26, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General Professor Mia Golam Parwar today said despite differences in political views, the parties must remain united in the national interest.
“There may be many obstacles in the formation of a new Bangladesh free from fascism. However, the journey that has begun towards the national elections must be taken forward together. We must move forward together, keeping in mind the spirit of July,” he said.
He made these remarks while addressing a ceremony marking the 4th founding anniversary of the Gana Adhikar Parishad at Diploma Engineers Institute in the capital.
Greeting the political party, the Jamaat Secretary General said the party was established through the struggle for the realization of basic human rights. The inhuman torture that the previous fascist government's thugs inflicted on Nurul Haque Nur, a leader who emerged from Dhaka University, is rare in the history of civilization, he added.
Parwar said, “We want a new Bangladesh, a humane Bangladesh, where political parties and journalists will have the opportunity to express their opinions in a democratic environment.”
