KHULNA, Oct 11, 2025 (BSS) – Secretary General of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and former parliament member Golam Parwar today urged the authorities concerned to ensure a level playing field for all political parties ahead of the national election.
“The administration must be strengthened, to ensure a free and fair election,” he said while speaking as the chief guest at a student-youth rally, organized by Paikgachha Upazila Jamaat-e-Islami, on the grounds of Paikgachha Government College.
Parwar said that as the election draws nearer, unease in various tiers of the administration is increasing.
He called on all concerned to focus on creating a congenial atmosphere to guarantee a free, fair and neutral election.
Recalling the mass movement of 2024, he said the earlier struggle was against fascism, while the future struggle will be centered towards preventing corruption from the society.
“The Islamic-minded forces can play a leading role in diminishing corruption from the society,” he added.
Outlining Jamaat’s priorities if it comes to power, Parwar said the party would first reform the existing education system to ensure education for all. The second priority would be to declare a war on corruption and build a society free from discrimination.
He also said the party would seek to enact laws based on the Holy Quran in Parliament to ensure justice, and urged voters to cast their ballots on conscience.
Paikgachha Upazila Amir Maulana Saidur Rahman presided over the rally while Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, central shura member of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and the party’s candidate for Khulna-6, and Noorul Islam Saddam, Secretary General of Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir, addressed as special guests.
Paikgachha Upazila Secretary Md. Altaf Hossain conducted the rally while Khulna district Jamaat Naib-e Amir Maulana Golam Sarwar, Secretary Munshi Mizanur Rahman, Arafat Hossain Milan, president of Khulna City Chhatra Shibir, South District President Abu Jar-al-Gifari, City Jamaat Assistant Secretary Advocate Shah Alam, and District Assistant Secretary Munshi Moinul Islam, among others, addressed.
Parwar said that unlike previous revolutions against fascism, a new revolution for good governance is needed now.
He also pledged that, if elected, Jamaat leaders would not accept government plots, cars, houses or other perks, and challenged other political parties to make similar commitments.
