DHAKA, Sept 30, 2025 (BSS) – The Anti Corruption Commission has filed cases against eight executives of two private entities over an alleged fraudulence in granting loans under a tripartite agreement.
ACC headquarters today, its director general Md Akter Hossain said the graft body found involvement of SAF Finance and Investment Ltd and Mantrust properties in getting the loans sanctioned twice against a same immovable property through mutual connivance.
“The disbursed loan of Tk 2.70 crore now amounted to Taka 6.59 crore as default loan, accumulating interests,” he said.
He said the case was lodged after ACC assistant director Pias Pal investigated into the irregularity.
The accused are: Mantrust Properties Private Limited’s managing director Md Shah Alam, former SAF Finance and Investment Ltd principal officer Niaz Ahmed Farooqui, former senior vice president and principal officer Md Shahidul Islam, former additional managing director Md Nazrul Islam, former managing director Md Mofiz Uddin Chowdhury, former chairman Mohammad A Hafiz, and former directors Ujjwal Kumar Nandi, Md Jahangir Alam and Md Siddiqur Rahman.
The ACC official said they were charged under sections 409, 420 and 109 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC.
