DHAKA, Sept 21, 2025 (BSS) – A workshop on “Work with Ease, Feel at Peace with Perkeso” was held in Kuala Lumpur today focusing on the welfare, safety and social protection of Bangladeshi migrant workers in Malaysia.

The event was organised by Malaysia’s government institution PERKESO with the support of the Bangladesh High Commission in Kuala Lumpur, according to a message received here today.

Acting High Commissioner of Bangladesh to Malaysia Mosammat Shahanara Monika said the High Commission is working closely with the Malaysian government to ensure the welfare, protection and workplace safety of Bangladeshi workers.

She expressed the hope that such workshops would help raise awareness among workers by disseminating accurate information about their rights and entitlements.

PERKESO Deputy Chief Executive Edmund Cheng Ping Huang said the Malaysian government is implementing various projects through PERKESO to create a worker-friendly and safe environment.

A video presentation showcased PERKESO’s “Social Security Protection” programme, outlining benefits available to migrant workers and their responsibilities in accessing them.

During the event, PERKESO presented crests of appreciation to the Director General of the Wage Earners’ Welfare Board and the Bangladesh High Commission in recognition of their cooperation.
