DHAKA, Sept 17, 2025 (BSS) –A delegation of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) today held a virtual meeting with the Finland's Ambassador for Human Rights Katja Pehrman.
The meeting took place at 5pm Bangladesh time (2pm Finnish time) through online platform, said BNP Standing Committee member Dr Abdul Moyeen Khan.
During the meeting, they discussed issues related to democracy, human rights, the rule of law and the forthcoming parliamentary elections in Bangladesh.
BNP delegation urged the Finnish envoy to take necessary steps to ease the visa process for Bangladeshi citizens, particularly students and families, who are currently facing complications in obtaining Finnish visas through the Embassy stationed in New Delhi.
They informed that due to the delays in visa processing at the Finnish Embassy in India, many Bangladeshi students are being deprived of the opportunity to pursue higher education in Finland.
In response, Ambassador Katja Pehrman assured the BNP leaders that their demands would significantly be considered.
The BNP delegation was led by Dr Abdul Moyeen Khan. Other members included Kamrul Hasan Joni, President of Finland BNP unit and Mohammad Khairuzzaman Linkon, former International Affairs Secretary of Jubo Dal Central Executive Committee.
