CHATTOGRAM, Sept 15, 2025 (BSS) - Fly Dubai, a UAE based airliner, will resume its operations from Chattogram Shah Amanat International Airport (CSAIA) soon.
CSAIA officials told BSS that Salam Air, another Oman based private flight operator, will also operate three flights weekly instead of existing two on Chattogram-Muscat route from September 18 while Dubai based airliner Fly Dubai has fixed schedule to begin flight operation from here on October 26 next.
Both the airlines will also operate its flights to other middle-east based destinations, sources said.
A significant number of foreign flight operators including Thai Airways, Thai Smile Air, Oman Air, Spice Jet, Zajeera Airways, RAK Air and Tiger Air have gradually stopped flight operations from CSAIA in pretext of lack of adequate logistic support and poor flow of passengers.
Fly Dubai authority had shut down its flight operations from CSAIA in December last year on ground of incurring operational loss as well as shortage of sufficient logistic supports here.
Foreign airliners began their operations from CSAIA from the year 2000 and the number of foreign flight operators started increasing one after another within a few years.
Officials said CSAIA had earned record amount of revenue amounting to Tk 270.49 crore during 2024-2025 financial year in its history, which was Tk 33 crore more than previous fiscal -2023-2024.
It has also able to reduce operational costs in the FY-2024-2025 proportionately compared to FY 2023-2024.
