One held with stolen around Tk 25 lakh, motorcycle

DHAKA, Sept 13, 2025 (BSS) -Police have arrested an individual along with 
stolen money of around Taka 25 lakh and a motorcycle purchased from Manikganj 
district. 
 
The arrested was identified as Md Kausar Ahmed (22).
 
Banani thana police arrested Kauser in a raid at Manikganj Bus Stand in 
Manikganj district around 11:45 pm on Friday, said a press release. 
 
Taka 24,84,500 was stolen from a house at Banani and a motorcycle purchased 
with the stolen money and two mobile phones were seized from his possession. 
 
Banani Police Station sources said Kauser is accused of stealing valuable 
things including cash from a house of businessman Mustajirul Shovon Islam at 
Road No. 18, House No. 38/B under Banani Police Station around 11:45pm on 
September 9 last.
 
Shovon lives in the house with his family, police said, adding that the 
businessman and his family fell asleep after having dinner in his flat on 
September 9. 

The following morning, on September 10, 2025, at around 8:00 am, the victim 
awoke to find his bedroom in disarray, with belongings scattered and the 
cupboard left open.

The next day, on September 10, 2025, around 8am, the victim woke up to find 
his belongings in his bedroom in a disarray and cupboard open. 
 
The hand suitcase, which was kept for business purposes, had been stolen by 
an unknown thief. 
 
In this incident, a theft case was registered with Banani Police Station on 
September 11, 2025, following the complaint of the victim Mustazirul.
 
During the investigation of the case, the location of the person involved in 
the theft was identified with the help of technology, police said.
 
Accordingly, on Friday night, a raid was conducted at the Manikganj bus stand 
and the accused involved in the incident, Kausar was arrested. 
 
Stolen Taka 24,84,500, a motorcycle and two mobile phones purchased with the 
stolen money were recovered from the arrestee. 
 
The detained Kausar confessed his involvement in the stealing during the 
initial interrogation.
