DHAKA, Sept 6, 2025 (BSS) - A Qulkhwani and doa mahfil was held seeking eternal peace of the departed soul of Mahmud Ullah, an eminent educationist and father of Dr Shah Muhammad Aman Ullah, a member of the Board of Directors of the Ziaur Rahman Foundation.
A special prayer and milad took place after Asr prayers on Friday at the Kazi Bashir Uddin Road Jame Mosque in Kalabagan, Dhaka on the occasion.
BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman virtually participated from London.
BNP Chairperson's Advisors Aman Ullah Aman, Professor Dr Farhad Halim Doner and Ismail Zabihullah, BNP International Affairs Secretary Barrister Nasir Uddin Ahmed Asim, Education Affairs Secretary Professor Dr ABM Obaidul Islam and other senior party leaders were present, among others.
Additionally, leaders from Chhatra Dal, Juba Dal, Swechhasebak Dal and well-wishers of the deceased attended the ceremony.
Special prayers were also offered during the milad mahfil seeking eternal peace of the departed souls of several prominent figures, including BNP founder Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman, former navy chief Mahbub Ali Khan and Begum Khaleda Zia's late son Arafat Rahman Koko.
Special prayers were offered for good health and well-being of BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia, Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman, and their families as well.
In a brief speech, Ismail Zabihullah, a long-time friend of Mahmud Ullah, expressed deep shock and sorrow, saying, "His death has greatly upset me. Please keep him in your prayers."
The deceased's sons, Dr. Shah Muhammad Aman Ullah and Engineer Shah Adnan Mahmud, along with relatives and well-wishers, were also present at the event.
