RAJSHAHI, Sept 3, 2025 (BSS)- Newly-admitted students in 2024-25 academic year were included in the voter list for the upcoming election to Rajshahi University Central Students Union (RUCSU), Hall Council and students representatives to the Senate.
 
Apart from this, the fresher will compete in the election. For this, stipulated time for lifting nomination papers has been extended to one more day.
 
RUCSU election commission took the decision in a meeting at its office and revealed this in a press conference at the same venue on Tuesday.

Chief Commissioner to the RUCSU election Professor F Nazrul Islam said the newly-admitted students were included in the voter list on the basis of students' demands and suggestions to make the election more inclusive and festive. Time for lifting nomination papers has been extended to one more day.

He, however, said the election will be held on September 25.

As per the revised election schedule, distribution of nomination papers will be held till September 3 while submission of those from September 4 to 7 and scrutiny of the nomination papers will take place on September 8 and 9.

The preliminary list of candidates will be published on September 10.

Receiving of objection and disposal of those will take place on September 11. Candidates may withdraw their nominations on September 13. The final list will be published on September 14.
 
Polling will be held in the academic buildings on September 15 from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.
 
After over three decades, Rajshahi University (RU) students are going to get back their representative rights as the election to RUCSU is going to be held after a long gap of 35 years.
 
Already, the necessary preparations for holding the election are going on in full-swing.
