DHAKA, Aug 23, 2025 (BSS)- Chairman of Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS) Board of Directors Anwar Aldin has expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of veteran journalist Alamgir Mohiuddin, a member of the BSS Board of Directors and former Editor of Dainik Naya Diganta.
In a condolence message today, Anwar Aldin said Alamgir Mohiuddin was an honest, sincere and courageous journalist.
Through his indomitable and sharp writing, he continued his fight against dictatorship-fascism and social inequality till his death, he said.
Alamgir Mohiuddin became a shining star in the mainstream media.
“He was fearless and unwavering in revealing the truth. His role in establishing the freedom of the press and professional rights of journalists will undoubtedly remain alive,” he said.
The BSS chairman said he has made many important contributions in his long journey of journalism, including editing several newspapers, writing books.
“His deep and thoughtful writings, especially on Islamic Renaissance and Tahjib Tamaddun, have been able to create a stir in the people's thoughts. He was a very good person,” he said
Anwar Aldin prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family members.
Alamgir Mohiuddin breathed his last at 1:30 pm today while undergoing treatment at the Anwar Khan Modern Medical College Hospital in the capital.
His wife died four years ago.
He is survived by his daughter, relatives and well-wishers and admirers.
