DHAKA, July 30, 2025 (BSS) - Chief Justice Syed Refaat Ahmed today called for maintaining objectivity in reporting on law, justice and the constitution.
“Reporting on law, justice and the constitution is a complex and difficult matter. For this, reporters need to be more careful in verifying information,” he said.
The Chief Justice was unveiling the cover of the first edition of the Supreme Court Reporters’ Forum magazine 'Jagaran' at the Chief Justice's office.
Refaat Ahmed said he didn’t notice any deviation in the objective journalism of the reporters on judiciary in the last one year after he took charge of the judiciary.
Despite that, a reporter needs to be more diligent in publishing news or reports objectively, he said.
Praising the journalists who gather news in the Supreme Court, the chief justice urged them to be partners in establishing an independent judiciary.
He called upon everyone to work together to brighten the honor, dignity and image of the judiciary in the coming days.
The reporters’ forum president Masudur Rahman also spoke.
Earlier, the new committee of the Supreme Court Reporters’ Forum greeted the Chief Justice with bouquet of flowers.
Forum’s General Secretary Mehedi Hasan Dalim introduced all the members with the Chief Justice.
Vice President Kabir Hossain, former General Secretary Golam Rabbani, Joint Secretary Afzal Hossain, Treasurer Kamrul Islam Fakir, Office Secretary Md. Mainul Ahsan, Executive Member Md. Didarul Alam, Golam Rabbani, Syeda Sabrina Majumder and other members of the forum were present.
