DHAKA, July 29, 2025 (BSS) - A court here today ordered attachment of a flat of Farabi N Rahman, son of former principal secretary to the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) and former National Board of Revenue (NBR) chairman Nazibur Rahman, and to freeze seven bank accounts in the names of different members of their family.

Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Zakir Hossain Galib passed the order, allowing a plea of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

Of the seven bank accounts, two are joint accounts in the names of Nazibur and his wife Nazma Rahman, and the other five accounts are in the names of their two sons. The court also ordered to freeze five beneficiary owners (BO) accounts in the name of their two sons.

The ACC in its plea said the former PMO principal secretary has made huge money through illegal transactions over transfer, bribery, and other forms of corruption. The ACC has already appointed an investigation officer, and during the primary probe, it has found different movable and immovable properties in the name of his family members.

"It was learned that Nazibur Rahman and his family members were trying to hand over or transfer the properties to evade justice. If they succeed in doing so, it will cause a huge loss to the country and hamper the investigation. So, the properties should be attached and accounts frozen," the ACC plea added.
