RANGPUR, July 26, 2025 (BSS) - Jamaat-e-Islami Executive Council Member ATM Azharul Islam has said the youth must protect the success of the July 2024 revolution with the ideals of moral character this time.

"The youth society with students and people has always played a leading role in all mass movements against tyranny. But, due to the lack of patriotic and honest people, those successes have not benefited the countrymen," he said.

Azharul Islam, also Jamaat-e-Islami's former Acting Secretary General, said this at a youth rally held at the local Waqf Estate Kamil Madrasa auditorium in Taraganj upazila town on Saturday evening as the chief guest.

Taraganj upazila Jamaat-e-Islami youth unit President Mohammad Kazi Shamsul Huda presided over the rally.

Azharul Islam said that the youth community has always worked shoulder to shoulder with students and the public in all mass movements against dictatorship and has repeatedly changed the country.

"This time, the youth society must remain attentive in protecting the success of the July-August 2024 revolution to benefit the people. They must be vigilant to prevent ballot theft in the next election," he said.

He said, "We want elections as soon as possible by creating a level playing field through exemplary trials of the murderous tyranny and necessary reforms."

"We want to change the fate of the people by creating an environment for fair elections, giving all people the right to vote and participating in it, and establishing the law of Allah and rule of honest people in society and establish justice," he said.

Azharul Islam said, for the past 14 years, the fascist oppressor regime had kept him in jail by ordering his execution on false charges and fictitious testimony and silenced his voice.

"By the infinite mercy of Allah, I am now working freely in the struggle to establish the religion of Allah. I will devote myself to this work until the
last day of my life, Insha'Allah," he said.

He said, in the past, the fascist dictatorial Awami League regime had killed, imprisoned and oppressed millions of leaders and activists of dissenting political parties.

"As a result of this oppression, the fascist oppressor regime fell in exchange for the sacrifice of their lives through the mass uprising of
students, youth and the people in the July-August revolution," he said.

Consequently, the revolution created in exchange for the blood of students, youth and the people for the welfare of the country and people, the
oppressors fled the country because they sold the country to India. The patriots never flee the country.

"The MPs, ministers, leaders, activists of Awami fascists and oppressors along with their families, have fled to India under the wrath of people. No welfare or change in the fate of the people or the country will ever come about through them," he said.

Azharul Islam said, "The time has come to change the fate of the 180 million people by building a strong unity of patriotism among farmers, workers, students, youth, and the people and building a happy and prosperous Bangladesh."

Earlier in the morning, ATM Azharul Islam met with the teachers and staff of the Waqf Estate Kamil Madrasa at its auditorium in a view-sharing meeting in the upazila town.

Later in the afternoon, ATM Azaharul Islam addressed a women's rally organized by the Taraganj Upazila Jamaat-e-Islami women's unit at the local Waqf Estate Kamil Madrasa auditorium as the chief guest.
