DHAKA, July 9, 2025 (BSS)- The United for the Victims and Enforced Disappearances (UVED) today handed over a list of 200 people to the Commission of Inquiry on Enforced Disappearances or Ghum Commission.
UVED said the people went missing after being victim of enforced disappearances during the regime of Awami League.
A four-member delegation of the UVED led by its main organizer and former ambassador M Maroof Zaman handed over the list during a meeting between Ghum Commission and UVED, said a commission press release.
Commission Chairman Retired Justice Moyeenul Islam Chowdhury, members Nur Khan, Md Sajjad Hossain and Dr Nabila Idris were present.
UVED sought cooperation of the Ghum Commission to trace out the whereabouts of the missing people.
They also discussed the responsibilities of the state to compensate and rehabilitate the victims of enforced disappearances and those who could return home.
The delegation was appraised of the progress in the works of the commission.
