KERANIGANJ, July 5, 2025 (BSS) - Expressing strong confidence in Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP)'s political prospects, its Standing Committee member Gayeshwar Chandra Roy hoped that BNP will return to power.

Addressing a public rally organized by South Keraniganj Thana BNP at the Chunkutia Girls High School ground this afternoon, Gayeshwar said, "We can say with certainty that BNP will return to power."

He described Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman as a symbol of the people's aspirations. "Ziaur Rahman is the echo of the hopes and dreams of this nation. His popularity stemmed from his actions, not from any propaganda," he said.

He accused the ousted Hasina of promoting a legacy solely based on her father, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

"Sheikh Hasina spent thousands of crores of public money to erect statues of her father, claiming all achievements were part of his dream. But in the face of public protests, those statues were eventually toppled," he added.

"If someone truly serves the nation, history remembers them. Since Sheikh Hasina has done nothing for the people, she will be forgotten once she flees," he added, referring to the ex Prime Minister as a "fascist ruler."

He also lauded Acting BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman's leadership, noting that "even from London, he has successfully organized and strengthened the party for the past 17 years."
