DINAJPUR, July 4, 2025 (BSS) - National Citizen Party (NCP) convener Nahid Islam has reiterated his party's commitment to eradicating economic and regional disparities in Bangladesh, calling for a balanced distribution of production and resources across the country.

Addressing a large gathering during a street rally at the Dinajpur Institute Ground on the fourth day of the NCP's month-long 'July Padyatra' campaign, Nahid Islam said, "We want to permanently eliminate economic and regional inequality from Bangladesh."

The NCP's July Padayatra is being held nationwide to press demands for justice, democratic reforms and the formulation of a new constitution.

The party's leaders continued their march from the Circuit House intersection, circling Station Road and Bahadur Bazar.

In his speech, Nahid Islam highlighted the plight of farmers in Dinajpur-one of the country's major grain-producing regions.

"Dinajpur has the capacity to feed the entire nation, yet the very farmers who grow the rice are denied fair prices due to market syndicates," he said.

"This region cannot even feed its own children under such unjust conditions. We want equitable distribution wherever production takes place. We want to banish economic and regional disparities from Bangladesh forever," he stated.

Nahid Islam also stressed that the NCP would not make empty promises.

"Insha Allah, we will succeed in building a just and equitable nation. There has been a delay in announcing the July Declaration, but it must be formally incorporated into the constitution. The sacrifices of those who were martyred and injured must be officially recognized," he added.
