DHAKA, July 2, 2025 (BSS) - A high-level delegation of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami joined the US Independence Day Celebration programme in the capital today.
This special programme marking the 249th Independence Day of the United States was hosted by Tracey Ann Jacobson, the US Charge d'affaires to Bangladesh, this evening at the United Convention Center near Dhaka airport.
The event was also attended by ambassadors, high commissioners, diplomats, political leaders, retired military officials, senior government representatives and distinguished members of civil society.
Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami delegation included Nayeb-e-Ameer and former MP Dr. Syed Abdullah Md. Taher, Secretary General and former MP Professor Mia Golam Parwar, Assistant Secretary General and Central Media and Publicity head Advocate Ehsanul Mahbub Zubair, Central Executive Council members Nurul Islam Bulbul (Ameer, Dhaka Metropolitan South), Mohammad Selim Uddin (Ameer, Dhaka Metropolitan North) and Foreign Affairs Adviser to the Ameer Professor Dr. Mahmudul Hasan.
During the event, Nayeb-e-Ameer Dr. Taher presented a congratulatory message to the U.S. Ambassador on behalf of Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman.
The delegation conveyed their hope that the long-standing diplomatic, commercial and cordial ties between the United States and Bangladesh would continue to deepen in the days to come.
