DHAKA, July 2, 2025 (BSS) – A total of 71 desktop computers have been provided to 40 ‘Chowki Adalat’ in the far-flung areas of the country aiming at ensuring expected service for justice seekers and increasing capacity of the ‘adalat’ (courts).
As part of the infrastructural development, these computers have been provided for using at the court rooms and other offices of the courts, said a press release here.
The trial activities are being conducted at 40 ‘Chowki Adalat’in 23 districts across the country.
The civil and criminal cases are being conducted at these remote courts or ‘Chowki Adalat’. Senior Assistant Judge, Senior Judicial Magistrate, Joint district Judge and Additional district Judge are usually working at these courts.
The computers, which are being supplied by the Supreme Court as per the directives of the Chief Justice would accelerate the outpost court activities across the country, the release added.
On August 11, 2024, when Dr Syed Refat Ahmed assumed the office as 25th Chief Justice of the country, a total of 400 desktops have been distributed to the district courts aiming at brining mobility of the trial process at the courts across the country.
In addition to this, the apex court also provided laptops among 120 judicial department officials across the country during this time.
