By Didarul Alam

DHAKA, June 21, 2025 (BSS) - BNP Media cell, which was formed to promote
organizational activities, making information easily accessible to
journalists and effectively presenting the party's policies, ideals and
vision, stepped into fourth year today.

"BNP media cell is working responsibly and carefully with a view to build a
developed, modern and democratic Bangladesh in the future," said BNP joint
general secretary and member secretary of the party's media wing Shahid Uddin
Chowdhury Annie.

He said initiatives are being taken to further consolidate the path of the
future by overcoming the ignorance and injustice of the past.

Annie said the cell has been playing a key role to create awareness among the
people and reflect the hopes and aspirations of the nation and it will
continue its strides with the same enthusiasm in the days to come.

BNP media cell member Prof Dr Morshed Hasan Khan said the cell's third
anniversary is a milestone in struggle, success and progress of the party.

The main responsibilities of the wing was to shape public opinion, present
the "fascist regime's repressive activities" to the public, he said.

Noting currently, the number of followers on its Facebook page is over three
million, Khan said the cell is playing a leading role in disseminating
information on various platforms.

The call is working tirelessly to disseminate the 19-point agenda of Shaheed
President Ziaur Rahman, former prime minister and BNP chairperson Begum
Khaleda Zia's 'Vision 2030' and acting chairman Tarique Rahman's 31-point
state reform outline, he said.

Keeping the motto 'Bangladesh first' in front, they are playing an active
role in every field of information flow, he said adding it is working to
publish and disseminate human rights reports, highlight the real history of
independence through interviews with freedom fighters, and dispel all rumors
and misconceptions.

They are playing an active role in logically refuting the ongoing propaganda
against the BNP and Ziaur Rahman's family, he said.

He said throughout the 2024 movement, especially in July, the cell played a
strategic and leading role in strengthening the movement by quickly and
efficiently spreading news, photos and videos of the movement on social
media, online news portals and international media.

"Amidst the repression, this media outlet stayed committed to providing
objective and reliable information round the clock," Khan said.

Tarique Rahman is the chief patron of the cell while Prof Dr Moudud Hossain
Alamgir Pavel is convener and Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Annie is member
secretary.
