DHAKA, June 3, 2025 (BSS)- A court here today ordered the Anti-Corruption
Commission (ACC) to attach a nine-storey building in Ashulia, a flat in
Pallabi and 23 decimals of land and freeze three bank accounts of former
Directorate General of Forces Intelligence (DGFI) Major General Saiful Alam
and his wife Lubna Afroze over graft allegations.
Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Md Zakir Hossain Galib passed the
order, allowing a plea of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).
Deputy Director of the ACC (Public Relations) Aktarul Islam confirmed the
matter.
The ACC in its plea said an investigation team has been formed to submit a
report after inquiring into allegations that they misused power, engaged in
various irregularities and corruption to unlawfully acquire wealth and
obtained assets beyond their known sources of income in their names and their
family members.
During the investigation, it was learned that the family members involved in
the allegations were attempting to transfer or misappropriate funds from
their bank accounts.
Concurrently, they are attempting to conceal assets by
transferring ownership of the flat and the 9-floors house to their two
daughters and wife through a gift deed after the ACC initiated its
investigation.
