"Training enhances the efficiency of volunteers to work in adverse situations during disasters and helps minimize casualties," they added.

They made the remarks while addressing the concluding ceremony of a seven-day disaster management training programme for members of the Bangladesh National Cadet Corps (BNCC) from different college units, held at the auditorium of Gaibandha Government College this morning.

Earlier, Prof Khalilur Rahman, Principal of Gaibandha Government College, formally inaugurated the training on Tuesday as the chief guest.
