RANGPUR, May 13, 2025 (BSS) - A court here today acquitted Lalmonirhat district BNP president and BNP central organizing secretary Principal Asadul Habib Dulu after dismissing the case filed against him by Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) in 2010.

Judge Md. Haider Ali of the Rangpur Special Judge (District and Sessions Judge) Court announced the verdict this afternoon.

The verdict said that the state was unable to prove the charges brought against former deputy minister and former BNP lawmaker Principal Asadul Habib Dulu in the case.

ACC lawyer Advocate Harun Ur Rashid confirmed the acquittal to local journalists.

Earlier, the Rangpur District Combined Office of Anti Corruption Commission filed a case against him under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act in 2010.

After the verdict, his lawyers and BNP leaders and activists congratulated and wished him in the court premises.

Later, BNP leader Asadul Habib Dulu told local reporters that he had been harassed with false cases. "I have never been involved in any irregularities or corruption. That has been proven in court today," he said.

"Various state agencies have investigated and found no evidence of irregularities or corruption against me. This case was filed by ACC officials under the command of the then fascist regime to disgrace me in society," he added.
