DHAKA, May 8, 2025 (BSS) - A Dhaka court today ordered confiscation of four plots, two buildings, two apartments and six bank accounts of former home minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal’s wife Lutful Tahmina Khan on a plea by the Anti Corruption Commission (ACC).
The ACC officials said Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Zakir Hossain Galib ordered the seizure alongside blocking her share certificates issued by two companies
According to the graft body allegation Tahmina Khan owned a four-story building on 5.57 katha of land at Monipuripara, two plots with 5.76 decimal of land and 1.34 decimal of land at the same area.
The other property to come under the purview of the court order included a 1,872 square feet apartment and another 1,563 square feet flat at Pallabi area in the city.
The ACC alleged she maintained six bank accounts with deposited Tk. 7,58,33,436.
Tahmina Khan was accused of amassing illegal wealth worth of Tk. 15,46,94,000 beyond her known income sources while the ACC alleged her husband assisted his wife to acquire the property by abusing his power.
An ACC official said she conducted suspicious transactions amounting to Tk. 43,77,00,000 through individual and joint accounts.
He said that assets required confiscation in the interest of investigation as she could sell or hand over of the property.
